Paris Galeries Lafayette: a new testing ground for Israeli robotaxis

Galeries Lafayette Parisian employees will soon be able to book an autonomous taxi to make their way in and out from their hectic overcrowded part of the city.

Behind the move, French RATP Group innovation, Mobileye the Israeli autonomous systems leader, and the Israeli Moovit (acquired by Mobileye in March 2020) who already had a partnership with the French public transportation company.

Mobileye, for the moment still an Israeli branch of Intel Corporation which had acquired Mobileye in 2017 for the skyrocking amount of $15,3 billion and is now planning an IPO at a valuation of $50 billion, will use Moovit mobility app to centralise the bookings.
